we’re enjoying some beautiful berries and stonefruit at the moment, so i thought i’d do a variation on our staple appleberry puree.

it smells delicious as it simmers on the stove
summer fruit puree
1 punnet blackberries
1 cup strawberries, hulled and chopped
1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
2 peaches, peeled, stoned, and chopped
2 or 3 tablespoons of water


  • place all ingredients in a small saucepan and cook, covered, over low heat until tender
  • puree and pour into ice trays
  • store in freezer for up to three months

arty’s been enjoying this on his weet bix in the morning, in porridge, with yoghurt, and even with some vanilla custard for a treat.
