Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge #1

Hey, you splendid peeps!

Do you have a friend who you just always seem to be on the same page as? Someone who just gets your style and taste, and who just seems to like all the same stuff as you?

My friend Dee is like that for me. We are so often working on similar stuff, gushing over similar products, and just generally working in sync., that we have come to the conclusion that we must be crafty twins.

And because of that, we decided that we would collaborate on a crafty project. After not very much discussion (because we just agreed on everything immediately), we settled on a monthly mood board challenge. We’ll each take it in turns to make a mood board, then both make a Traveler’s Notebook page based on said board.

I made the first one and it looks like this:

For my layout, I picked up on the pinks, and leant into the more greenish tones, with just a couple of nods to the grey. That wasn’t what I intended to do going in, but that’s how it turned out!

Those more yellowish greens weren’t in the mood board at all, but they kind of made their way on there anyway, and I’m okay with that.

To me, mood boards should be jumping off points, and places to start, and don’t have to be strictly adhered to.

Here’s the process video:

I used: Heidi Swapp Color Shine in mint and pink || Maggie Holmes ‘Chasing Dreams’ 12×12 paper || bits and pieces form Felicity Jane and Ali Edwards kits || Maggie Holmes ‘Bloom’ washi sticker book || Studio Calico alpha stickers in ‘Gray Area’ || Ali Edwards ‘Day of the Week’ roller stamp || MT pink washi || grey vector triangle washi || my Tiny Attacher, with regular staples || Papercraft double sided tape

Don’t forget to check out Dee’s video too (it’s amazing), as well as her blog.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we’d like to invite you to use the mood board to make something of your own. It was really fun to work with, and a great challenge. If you have a go, we would SO love to see what you make!

See you soon!
