Hello awesomest ones!

It’s time for another Crafty Twins mood board challenge! This month, Dee and I worked with this mood board:

I made it, and again, I have to shake my head at myself because these are NOT our colours. But hey. That’s why it’s called a challenge, I guess!

So, I don’t know if you know this about me but I am OBSESSED with sphynx cats. I have wanted my very own since forever. I love their wrinkly faces, their giant ears, and their otherworldly looks. I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but they are beautiful to me.

And a few weeks ago, I found the kitten that would be mine.

Her breeder was in another city (Brisbane, Queensland, which is 1600km north of where we live in Melbourne), so I had to survive on photos until she was old enough to come home to us. The photo I used in this layout was one of them.

As you can see, I included some stitching on this layout. I’ve been wanting to do more stitching in my memory keeping, and having those spools of thread on the mood board seemed like the perfect little nudge in that direction.

As you’ll see if you watch the process video, I made a bunch of mistakes while I was working on this and had to come up with ways to cover up and/or fix them. That meant that it didn’t look the way I’d originally planned, but I still really like how it turned out, so that was a lesson in letting go and making compromises!

Here’s the video:

I used: bits and pieces from various Felicity Jane kits, including the ‘Sophie’ stamp set || Stazon ink in Jet Black || my Instax Share SP-2 photo printer || Nuvo Crystal drops in ‘Wedgewood Blue‘ || ephemera and stickers from One Canoe Two’s Hazelwood collection || stickers from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection || my Tiny Attacher with green staples || Heidi Swapp color shine in ‘Seafoam‘ || We R Memory Keepers piercing mat and piercing tool || enamel shapes from Cocoa Vanilla’s ‘Endless Summer‘ range || DMC crochet cotton

See you soon! xxx

P.S. Percy is here now, and she is just the cutest little sweetheart. She has her own Instagram account (obviously), so if you like sphynxes as much as I do, you can follow her over there.
