Hey there my sweeties!
It’s time for another Crafty Twins mood board challenge! Yay!
If you’re new here, the Crafty Twins mood board challenge is something my dear friend Dee and I came up with – we take it in turns to create mood boards, and then each make a Traveler’s Notebook layout based on that mood board.
This month Dee and I were working with this bright and beautiful board:
I’m sure you can tell by the vibrancy of the colours that this is a board of Dee’s creation. The minute I saw it I knew exactly which photos I wanted to use on my layout.
I took a few pictures while I was at a florist a couple of weeks ago, and they had some dark blues in them. I thought they would be the perfect way to get that colour into my spread.
Then I got stuck into my faves – pink, coral, and yellow – and really went to town with stitching, and pretty cut files.
The result is a more detailed and delicate layout than I would normally make, but I think the amount of negative space balances out what’s going on along the bottom, and I absolutely love the textures.
Here’s the process video (don’t worry, it’s not all stitching!):
I used: enamel dots from Cocoa Vanilla’s ‘Free Spirit’ range || Tiny Attacher with gold staples || HP Sprocket instant photo printer || Heidi Swapp Color Shine in ‘Blush‘, ‘Mustard‘, and ‘Pink‘ || Glossy Accents || UHU glue stick || DMC embroidery floss in 726, 604, and 352 || piercing mat and tool
Don’t forget to check out Dee’s amazing video, and make your own layout with the mood board too!
See you soon!
