I finished up my November Day In The Life pages a little later than I’d intended due to yet another hospital stay. If you watch the process video below, you’ll see that my hands are all needle-poked and bruised from the cannula, blood tests, and other medical business that happened while I was in there.
As soon as I was free and able to sit at my desk, I got straight onto this project.
I loved the different spin that Ali came up with for this one. The idea of tallying up instances of the various elements that make up our days was a really interesting one, and helped to shift the focus from taking hourly photos, or tracking the timeline of the day.
I used the kit this time because I like the stamps, and the journal cards, but I just picked out the cards that were most useful in telling my stories. I left out the ones about laundry loads, steps taken, distance travelled, and some others that weren’t relevant to my day.
Instax photos seemed like the best way to print my images, because they’ve got an in-the-moment quality that I think really suits the immediacy of a project like this. That idea of moments captured as they occur, and recorded without fuss or ceremony.
Here’s how I made my pages:
See you soon! xxx
