I’ve got a fun new collab to share today!
My friend Elsie and I have decided to do a monthly sketch challenge for fun, and to keep each other inspired and on our toes. We’re calling it the E-sie sketch challenge because it’s easy, and because if you take the ‘l’ out of Elsie, and one ‘s’ out of Essie, that’s what you’re left with. Is it the wittiest joke ever? No. Are we bothered? Not a bit.
So this is the sketch we were working with this time:
You can see that it’s a reasonably uncomplicated one, which suited me fine – I’m not that used to working with sketches, so I was glad to start with a simple one.
I included a little bit of stitching, partly because I’m enjoying adding more stitching to my layouts these days, and partly because white hand stitching is one of Elsie’s signature design elements, and I wanted to include it as a nod to her.
The papers and floral elements are all from the ‘Camellia‘ digital kit from Caylee’s and my new company ‘Tincture Co.‘ We’re teaching classes and creating digital kits there, and loving every second. I’m obsessed with the soft colours and pretty, pretty elements in this kit, and basically want to use it for every project for forever.
The layout itself is about my two brothers and I. They’re super tall men, but I’m still the older sibling and always the boss. I love them both so dearly, and the photo I used is pretty old now, but one of my faves.
Here’s the process video:
I used: ‘Camellia‘ digital kit from Tincture Co. || Instax Share portable photo printer || enamel dots from Cocoa Vanilla || 0.75 inch circle punch || ‘Gilded Peach‘ sequin mix from Lucy’s Cards || Heidi Swapp Color shine in gold || Glossy Accents || DMC embroidery floss in ‘blanc‘ || piercing mat and tool
See you soon! xxx
