Hello, dearests!

I’ve got a traveler’s notebook layout to share today, and this one is designed from a sketch:

My sweet friend Elsie and I have started a monthly challenge called the E-sie sketch challenge (because if you take the ‘l’ out of Elsie, and one ‘s’ out of Essie, you’re left with the same letters), and this is the second instalment of it. Elsie made the sketch this month and it is freakin’ amazing. It did exactly what sketches are supposed to do and got me coming up with loads of ideas, and feeling super creative.

I immediately knew that I wanted to do some stitching for those hanging elements, and then it seemed natural to have punched paper circles and hearts adorn them, along with some sparkly sequins.

The floral element on the sketch had me digging through my stash for some pretty die cuts, and I was so happy to have the perfect project for those My Mind’s Eye ones that I’ve been hoarding for months.

Adding those stitches, and all the little sequins was a relatively time consuming process, but it was also easy, and pretty relaxing to do.

Here’s the process video:

I used: craft tweezers from ek tools || ‘Narcissus‘ sequin mix from Lucy’s Cards || die cut elements from My Mind’s Eye’s ‘In Bloom’ collection || Glossy Accents || piercing mat and tool || mt washi tape in pastel yellow || Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold

Don’t forget to have a look at what Elsie made with the sketch, and play along if you want to! Tag us if you do (@essie.ruth & @heyelsie_) because we’d love to see what you make!

See you soon! xxx
