Art journal process: The Golden Queen

Hello faves!

Over at Get Messy Art Journal, we’re in the season of fairy tales.

I am loving it so hard, because fairy tales are my faves. Myths and legends fall under that category for me too, and my fave by far is the Arthurian legend. I am obsessed. Did you notice our son is named Arthur? Not a coincidence.

Anyway, for this page I sort of wondered what things might have been like if instead of a legendary king, we had a queen, and it grew from there.

I talk through my processes and tips in the video, so go ahead and watch:

I used: glitter tape from Kikki.K. || white gesso || Semco matte acrylic in ‘pink lemonade’ || DMC stranded embroidery floss in 3852 ‘very dark straw’, and 3833 ‘light raspberry’ || gold drawing ink (similar but not identical to the one I used) || Martha Stewart glue pen || Ranger tape

See you soon! xxx
