Essie Ruth

Hello, sweeties,

I’ve just made another journal with me video. I really enjoy these ones. The unstructured, ambling way the process goes is really quite satisfying, even if it does mean the editing process is a little longer and more involved.

In this one I was journaling out a bit of anxiety.

I’ve been crazy, crazy busy in recent weeks, and it’s stating to take a bit of a toll. So, I decided to journal as an act of self care.

I’ll tell you about it in the video:

I used: alphabet stickers from Ruby Rock-it || mint/royal/gold tiny word stickers from Citrus Twist || ‘Sage & Grace’ die cuts from Kaisercraft || Maggie Holmes ‘Bloom’ cut apart sheet || ‘Toile’ gift wrap by Rifle Paper Co.

It really helped to spend some time immersed in the process of making this. I’m ready to get back to work.

See you soon! xxx

Oh I loved this video SO much! I really enjoy your journal page process videos.
I love in this one how it was inspiring and fun on the art journal side but also really interesting and helpful on the conceptual side too about anxiety. This hybrid style of journaling is such a genius idea Essie, it buzzes with ideas and interest! I love art journaling but am often intimidated and don’t do it as much or as freely as I would like so this kind of playful experiment is a great way to break into that resistance. But then adding in the traditional ‘word’ journaling too, with its self-care exploration / problem solving ‘planning’ or workbook element is a magical touch. I can’t wait to try this, it looks so satisfying!
Thanks for always being a sparkly-gorgeous part of the internet!
