One Little Word: February 2017

Hello, my dears!

I just wanted to pop in and let you know how I’m going with this project.

February’s prompt, like last year, was about choosing an action related to our word and doing it every day for the whole month.

My word is ‘steady’ and I wanted to do something to calm the rising sense of dread and panic I’m feeling at the state of the world right now. So I challenged myself to do one thing every day to make the world a better place.

This plan gave me a bit of leeway to do different things on different days, which helped me stay on track. Some days I wrote a letter to a politician. Some days I donated to a charity. Other days I subscribed to newspapers to support the work of their journalists. These were all values-driven choices that did my heart and soul good.

The only thing that got in the way of me acing this month’s prompt was a serious car crash. I spent some time in hospital recovering, and there were a few days there where I wasn’t able to sit up or think straight because of injuries and medication, but I figure I get a free pass for those days because of the neck brace and the morphine.

If you’d like to hear me discuss this further, and see me make this month’s pages in my album, you can watch the video below.

I used: Ali Edwards One Little Word kit 2017 (which you can see me unbox here) || Prima Color Philosophy dye ink in linen || Memento dewdrop dye ink in grey flannel, and lulu lavender || MT washi tape in pastel pink || paper from Paislee Press’ ‘High Five’ digital scrapbooking kit || enamel shapes from Cocoa Daisy’s ‘Endless Summer’ collection, and ‘Free Spirit’ collection

See you soon!
