I have so much enthusiasm for this One Little Word project. Which is the only thing that had me pick up the glue and the scissors when Ali set us a “vision board” as the prompt for February.
I find the idea of such a thing more than a little off-putting, but I decided to give it a go anyway, because, well, my word is ‘try’ after all.
Some class participants do their boards on canvass, but I wanted mine to be able to fit in my album, so I used a trimmed down piece of cardstock, which I folded to fit.
On the front I included images that made me think about the kinds of things I want to try hard at this year, from working in the garden, to being good to my body, to going to therapy and putting my head back together.
The back is more focussed on my ambitions, and the bigger things I want to try for…
I used: A whole lot of old issues of Frankie Magazine (lucky I’ve been stockpiling them all these years) | American Crafts white 12×12 cardstock | Amy Tangerine Stitched Ephemera | My Minds Eye ‘The Sweetest Thing’ tiny word stickers.
In spite of myself, I got a lot of pleasure out of this task. It felt like being back in primary school and doing a class project. The process of cutting and pasting was surprisingly nostalgic and calming.
I could even be convinced to do another one one day…
