I know most people think it’s cheesy, but I love Valentine’s day. Any excuse to make a fuss over my SJ is one I’ll gladly exploit.
This year we each gave each other a card (I made mine out of a Project Life card), and baked each other a treat. She made me a chocolate cake, and I made her a box full of pink meringue kisses.
I made a little insert for the 12×12 album to keep the cards safe and record the day.
I used: Becky Higgins 3×4 white cards | Crate Paper cardstock from the “Kiss Kiss” range, including “In Love”, “Be Mine”, and this specialty cut out sheet with gold foil | Gold heart vellum from the same range | Resin candy heart split pins, also from “Kiss kiss” | Maggie Holmes Flea Market cardstock | Studio Calico gold sequins | Teresa Collins Daily Stories sequins
As you can see, I’m still completely addicted to glittery sequin pockets. My tutorial for how to hand sew them can be found here.
I like the way that the card SJ gave me fits into the pocket. It overlaps its allotted space, which adds a kind of layered effect that looks pretty cool.
The week this page belongs in is quite a plain black and white one, so it stands out with all it’s glittery pinkness, which seems very appropriate for the theme.
Inserts for everything! Wheee!
