Hello, sweet cheekses!
I remember when Arty was a toddler and I was posting photos of his cute smiles, one of my friends with an older kid saying “just you wait til he’s five – you’ll get nothing but silly photo faces!”
She. Was. So. Right.
Whenever I ask Arty to smile for me these days, I get variations on this. And that’s kind of what this spread is about. Well, that and spinach.
The photo itself is both very green and very dark, and I wanted to embrace the former, and alleviate the latter.
Using this lovely, airy, leafy print helped keep the whole thing light and bright.
And using typewritten journaling, as opposed to my bigger, heavier handwriting also kept things from getting too dark.
A few well chosen paper strips, and a couple of embellishments from Felicity Jane finished the spread, and I’m really pleased with how it looks.
Here’s the process video:
I used: bits and pieces from various Felicity Jane kits || 12 x 12 patterned paper from Elle’s Studio (currently unavailable, but you can see me haul it here) || enamel shapes from Cocoa Vanilla || my Tiny Attacher with green staples || Glossy Accents || StazOn ink in Jet Black || Ali Edwards roller stamp form the 2017 One Little Word collection (available to purchase individually – you don’t need to get the whole kit!)
See you soon! xxx
